Eddie arrives during the party to tell Tina that he can't marry her as he's marrying Marie. Alma spreads it about hat Mike is going to be Ingram's partner. Mike has to sign a contract swearing not to use Ingram's contacts for five years and Vera is certain Tina is pregnant.
