Ayano explains the situation to Kogoro and Conan, who happen to be passing by the apartment building. They head to the apartment, but the body is missing. Mifuyu was conned out of ten million yen by Tabata, the man she was seeing. Kogoro reasons Tabata killed Mifuyu to silence her. Later, they head to Tabata's home in order to question him, but... The case begins to rapidly unfold.
